About Me:

Hi, I’m Abby, and I am so glad you’re here.

As a counselor, I aim to create a safe and trusting environment where real change can occur. Our time together is about what’s best for you, and I truly believe you are the expert in your own life. I look forward to getting to know you, and the unique story that brings you here.

I use a collaborative and holistic approach in counseling. This means I look at your physical, psychological, environmental, social, and spiritual needs. I value genuineness, connection, and honesty. I will use a strengths-based approach, which will help find and tap into your existing resources and resilience. I will help you explore your feelings, needs, motivations, and goals. I will also explore how your past may be effecting your present experience.

I trained in the Counselor Education program at the University of Southern Maine to provide mental health counseling. This included both individual and group training for people of all ages. My undergraduate degree is in psychology from the University of Maine at Orono. Before starting graduate school, I spent several years in mental health. I helped adults, kids, and families gain skills and find key resources for their mental health.

In my free time, I enjoy going for walks in nature and surrounding myself with the peace and wonder it provides. I love to travel and explore new places, meet new people, and immerse myself in new cultures. I adore plants and animals of all varieties and am always working on improving my green thumb. I also enjoy yoga, puzzles, reading/audiobooks, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Thanks for being here, it’s truly an honor to do this work.

“I would like my life to be a statement of love and compassion- and where it isn’t, that’s where my work lies.”
